So it seems to have something to do with those drivers We do not have any specific issues with the synaptic drivers. Is your whole system freezing or is it just the touchpad?
The drivers don't make a difference and neither do the steps listed in the link you posted I am thinking of returning this thing and going back to a Macbook is there is no simple solution.
